SCOPE OF WORKS

Termination of 33KV and 11KV HV Cables

WHAT THE CLIENT WANTED

Our scope of work on the site was to connect several satellite packaged substations to the main incoming substation whilst undertaking a variety of HV cable terminations into various HV equipment such as Ring Main Units and Circuit Breakers.

What We Did

Our HV Jointers are fully trained and competent to undertake many different types and makes of terminations and joints that may be used in our industry. This site used mainly 3 core and single core XLPE IXSU type termination kits onto the 11KV and 33KV cables. We also had a variety of separable connector (T-boot) type terminations to complete on site.

Cables were dressed, glanded and cleated into position by our team on site before being terminated into the equipment. We offered our client full VLF testing or DC pressure testing of the cable upon completion of all terminations and joints. To have this variety of skill in our team makes us able to take a project from cable pull to final testing – and all done in house with our direct employees. This gives us complete control on the safety of our team at work as well as the quality of our workmanship.

We have delivered every satellite substation on time keeping the client and project team happy with our work on site.
