Black building testing including full HV/LV maintenance

WHAT THE CLIENT WANTED

Our client approached us with a view to undertaking a black building test in tandem with full intrusive HV and LV maintenance. Having never done this before our client needed our expertise to assist them with drafting a complex switching schedule in order to understand how their system was configured.

What We Did

After an initial site visit INDSS, working closely with our client, drafted a switching schedule that managed the black building test alongside the full intrusive high and low voltage maintenance. This was a complex process as minimal disruption to the building was essential. This maintenance included various testing of air-cooled transformers, HV circuit breakers, LV air circuit breakers, DC battery chargers and all associated protection with INDSS as the nominated Senior Authorised Person.

This project was completed over a 1-day shutdown period and was successfully handed back to the client within the agreed timescales.

Upon successful completion of this project, this black building test and full maintenance is now an annual occurrence with INDSS having the expertise and resources to undertake this work on our clients’ behalf.
